How The City of Love Christian Worship Centre started from the beginning
On August 5, 2006, Pastor Collins Isioma Omorogie was officially ordained at Modupe Multipurpose Hall, 151 Iju Road, Agege, Lagos, by Rev. Tunde Fowe. This day also marked the inauguration of City of Love Christian Worship Centre.
It was a bittersweet moment, as The New Covenant Baptist Church, which had been a spiritual home for the family, gave them a heartfelt send-off on July 30, 2006, blessing them to pursue the vision God had placed in their hearts.
The early days were a mix of excitement and immense challenges. With no financial support from any church or organization, Pastor Collins and his family relied completely on God’s promises.
Their journey was sustained by faith, persistent prayers, and the sacrificial generosity of a few individuals whom God used as vessels of provision. Every day brought its own trials, but with each tear and burden, they stood firm, trusting in the faithfulness of God.
Despite the challenges, the family’s unwavering faith in God’s Word kept them moving forward. They held onto the vision of a church that would transform lives, heal broken hearts, and draw people closer to Christ. Little by little, God began to grow the ministry.
As the vision unfolded, members of the church rallied around the mission. Their dedication, prayers, and unwavering support became the backbone of the ministry. Together, they laboured, sowed seeds of faith, and watched as God turned every challenge into a testimony.
Today, by God’s grace, City of Love Christian Worship Centre has become a beacon of hope and transformation for countless lives. The journey is a testimony to God’s unfailing love and the power of obedience. We celebrate every soul saved, every heart touched, and every life changed, knowing that the best is yet to come.
